Gourmet Blended Natural Grey Sea Salt

Cromptons Kitchen Gourmet Blended Natural Grey Sea Salt range is a completely natural collection of hand blended Celtic Grey Sea Salt with herbs and spices, which is used to enhance the flavour of any beef, game, poultry, pork, fish and shellfish, fruit and vegetables.

We use no artificial preservatives or flavourings – Sea Salt is a natural preservative on its own. Every ingredient in Cromptons Kitchen Gourmet Blended Natural Grey Sea Salt can be found in any good herb and spice list.

The herb and spice combinations in these blends have unique effects on foods, and are the result of many years of experimentation and use within John’s professional kitchens. These recipes have been tried and tested with precise quantities of each of the various herbs and spices, which have been chosen with careful thought to their complimentary relationships to each other and the foods with which we suggest they be used. John has always stood by the maxim that "cooking is a marriage of flavours", and his aim has been to reproduce this belief in his blends.

John chose to use this specific Celtic salt from the Guérande on the Atlantic Coast of Brittany in France, due to its superb qualities, culinary and otherwise:-

Tips from the Salt Cellar

Sterlising your Jars

The easiest method for sterilising jars is to fill them with boiling water, let them stand for several minutes, then tip the water out. Do not dry the jars. Fill immediately with hot contents. Use a dry cloth to hold the hot jars.

What is a salt cellar?

A salt cellar is a pot, usually small and made of glass or silver, used on the table for holding (generally, unrefined) salt. Salt cellars were widely used up until the 1940s but, since the introduction of 'table salt', have been gradually replaced by salt shakers.
